Limited scope, or unbundled services, allows you to retain an attorney to handle only the specific areas that require expert legal assistance in Justice Court. Attorneys are not allowed to practice in Small Claims Court; therefore, we can only assist you to prepare your case outside of the court room environment by educating you in how to present your case or defense.

In addition, because corporations and business entities may not represent themselves in Superior Court or Federal Court, nor may the businesses be represented by an unlicensed individual, limited scope representation is not available for Superior Court and Federal Court matters.

Limited scope covers a range of legal services. Rather than being retained to handle your entire case, you may retain Patterson, Johnson-Stovall & Crenshaw, PLLC services for the limited purpose of your choice when limited scope representation is allowed under the Arizona Rules of Court. For example, you may want assistance with strategy, document preparation, ghostwriting, or coaching for civil litigation in Justice Court, while you handle the rest of your case. In administrative hearings, you may decide that you would like to retain counsel sole for the purpose of preparing for and conducting the administrative hearing.

Self-Managing your litigation based upon your budget and retaining legal services for tasks that you do not think you can do effectively yourself saves money, while enabling you to retain counsel only for the services which you need.
